Scripture for October: 1 Kings 19:1–17
Greetings, beloved, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord!
This month, the Lord reminds us: "You will be strengthened — because God is still faithful."
From 1 Kings 19, we journey with Elijah — a prophet who, after a great victory, found himself weary, afraid, and alone. Yet, through it all, God met him with grace, not judgment.
Here are five truths that speak to us today:
1 Kings 19:1-17
Five Truths from Elijah's Story
1. Even the Strong Grow Weary (v. 1-3)
Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. Fear means you need renewal, not that you've failed.
2. The Threat Is Not the End (v. 2)
Jezebel's message was a threat, not an army. Hold fast to God's truth - He's your defender.
3. Fear Distorts Identity (v. 4)
Elijah compared himself to others, feeling inadequate. God calls us to be faithful, not to compete.
4. God Nourishes the Weak (v. 5-8)
God told Elijah to eat and rest, saying the journey was too much for him alone. God strengthens us with rest and grace.
5. You Are Not Alone (v. 18)
“Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.” You're part of a remnant that stands with God!
🙌 Conclusion
Beloved, be encouraged: You will be strengthened — not because you are always strong, but because God is always faithful!
So rise, take nourishment, and move forward! The journey is not over — it's just beginning.
Let this word carry you through October and beyond. God is with you. He sees you and He will strengthen you. 💪🔥
